CREATE Architecture Planning & Design, New York, New York, Awarded Guest Lodge for General Electric.
New York, New York, May 24, 2002
CREATE Architecture Planning &
Design has been awarded the commission to design the new Guest Lodge
on the Global Research Campus of General Electric "GE".
The new Guest Lodge consisting of 40 guest
suites sits on the corporate campus of General Electric in Niskayuna,
New York and replaces an existing facility, which will be demolished
to expand the research center.
The new Guest Lodge is three levels and approximately
35,000 sf and overlooks the Mohawk River. Its exterior architect
and interior decor takes its inspirational from that of an Adirondack
Lodge familiar to the region in the early part of the 20th century
including a double height great room with stone fire place accompanied
with all modern day convenience.
The project is a design / build venture between
CREATE Architecture Planning & Design and IMC Construction of
Malvern, Pennsylvania, both of which were awarded the project after
an extensive design/build competition held by General Electric.
The project is presently in design development
and is scheduled for construction to begin August 2002.
